Matt is conducting DPhil research at the Oxford Long-term Ecology Lab (OXLEL), Department of Zoology, University of Oxford, with an interest in sustainable UK land use, particularly livestock farming.

His research focuses on the application of systematic methods to parametrise spatially explicit models of land management changes, to better understand carbon sequestration and ecosystem service delivery. 

 

Matt has fieldwork experience in the UK, Ghana, Borneo and Tenerife, including work on biological control of crop pests.

​

He has led systematic review projects focusing on agroforestry, livestock and farming.
